The Body Shop has great make-up brushes, and they are also vegan. I know Body Shop is not a drugstore brand, but it is available in Canada. What is the best drug store brand of makeup brushes?
ELF IS CHEAP AND CRAP, TARGET, THE SONIA KASUK IS GREAT I MEAN AMMAZZZING BRUAHES, TARGET LINE(STUDIO TOOLS) ARE GREAT TOO, BOTH FOUND AT TARGET.

CVS ESSENCE OF BEAUTY IS SOMETHINK EVERY ONE HAS IN THERE KIT ;)
Sonia Kashuk brushes rival any high end brush. You can find them at pretty much any Target.

I like them just as much as my Mac brushes.

The only problem with them is that I've never seen a good crease brush.
Posh.

They are as soft as mac.

Try order some off of costalscents.

They are cheap and as some say, exactly like mac brushes.
I like the E.L.F.(eyes lips face)Brushes they work good and they are very affoardable each brush cost around $1 but I don't know if they sell them in Canada
Sonia Kashuk for Target .
Sonia Kashuk Cheap and Great Quality
I would say Sonia Kashuk. I've heard that they're realitively cheap and really soft.

  • Is there some way for a 13 year old girl could work at some sort of makeup store?

    Hi!

    Sorry Sal, but sadly not!

Try when you're 16.Is there some way for a 13 year old girl could work at some sort of makeup store?
Im 15 and i have a hard job finding something like that so probably not.Is there some way for a 13 year old girl could work at some sort of makeup store?
It depends on where you live! Certain places allow 13 yr. olds to get working papers and apply for a job while others don't. Also you should talk to the store you want to work for. They could help you with your job application process.
no...unless your family owns the store,,, they may let you work there...
    Nope to young
Well, unless you have some type of small business idea I can't see how you would make a lot of money. There is a minimum age which you are allowed to work so a retail job would probably be out of the question for you. Have you thought about getting your first aid and perhaps babysitting? Or maybe offer to do odd jobs for people you know like raking leaves or shovelling snow.
    ehh, too young.
Uhmmmm who would want a little kid putting make up on someone also you dont have years of makeup experience so what advice would u give to customers ??????
Sorry, 13 year olds can't legally work in the US. 15 is the youngest but that takes a work permit that is signed by a parent/guardian. Even with that, there are lots of restrictions.
if your country allows 13 year olds to work - just take your resume into the shop or approach the store manager to ask for work and take things from there :).

i am a little concerned though about what a 13 year old wants to do with makeup...
nope...you need to be at least in high school 15 or 16...
unless you own the store, probably not I think you need to be at least 16 yr old to work
I'm thirteen too and if you figure this one out, let me know! As far as I know right now, the minimum age is 15 or 16. Good luck and you can spend the next few years practicing %26amp; getting better.
I think it would depend on the laws regarding legal working age in your state.
Pretty sure you'll have to wait a few years but it's good that you want a job.
nooooo thats to young they wouldnt know the first thing about makeup and how to suit everyones style and 13 year olds shouldnt even wear that much makeup to begin with.
i think theres an age limit...15

    dunno
No, usually the youngest age you can be is 15 and that's w/ a workers permit
Heck no, you aren't even the appropriate age to get a lob besides baby sitting.
I don't think 13 but every state has different laws about minors and employment. I have heard as low as 14 except for farming type things and working for your parents.

I think in CA 12 is the youngest working age but there are stipulations as to where they can work and when

Where do you live? You can google legal working age workers permit in any state it should come up with something.

Follow the link under occupational provisions it discusses the national laws as to where children of each age group can work.

    http://ncrve.berkeley.edu/CenterFocus/cf鈥?/a>

really looking up your states child labor laws will give you a more in depth answer.

    click on your state

    http://www.youthrules.dol.gov/states.htm
well im 15 and i worked over at arden 2 times a week.

they said i was to young. but your 13 so i really dont know. maybe a store near by.

i love makeup and i know lots about it.

    You do too i assume........

well yeah if not wait till your a lil older
take a guess! have you ever seen a 13 year old do somebody's make-up? You can volunteer. You'd probably get to like sweep the floor.
I believe you're still too young, girlie. Wait a couple more years.
Unfortunatley there is no way for anyone under the age of 15 to have a job legally. If your family member owns a business there is an exception.
i dont know but im 13 and would love that if you get any helpful answer please email me!! :D
    no way!!
for pay, no because it isn't legal for minors to work in the US

However, I once knew some girls who apprenticed for a theatre group. It was a great experience for them.
No, child labor laws prohibit anybody under the age of 14 yrs. working anywhere and actually being clocked for their time (or an offical employee somewhere.) Also most retail stores hire at 16 or 18 yrs.
you may volunteer to help out a couple of hours a week. Tell them that it would be like ... training for a job in the future.

I used to volunteer helping out at my Aunt's mini mart when I was 11. No harm at all, it actually is to my advantage now that I am working. I even got to put it down on my real job application and resume`. That gave me a boost above the other applicants.

Ask a family friend or any connections at all. Mom and Pop shops wouldn't mind the help either.

Don't hesitate, there are a lot of possibilities. You will learn a lot about working a business.

    Best of luck to you.
Nope. The only people I've seen working younger than 15, are kids that help out at small family businesses.
Absolutely none little darling now go to bed it would do you some good darling see you soon darling

Is MAC makeup at department stores cheaper...?

then the actual store? Im going to the mall today which has a MAC store inside and also has a MAC section inside of Macys. Does anyone know if they are the same price or ones better? Thanks!!Is MAC makeup at department stores cheaper...?
MAC Cosmetics is the same price no matter if you go to Macys, Nordstroms, or the actual MAC Store. Now it can be a bit more TAX WISE depending on where you live.

I bought a gloss in DC and was almost a dollar more than where I live in Maryland because of taxes.

If your looking for cheaper or discounted MAC products, you should go to an Outlet Mall where things are cheaper than a regular mall. Over here there is a Saks Outlet Store and they sell all cosmetics including MAC at cheaper prices, but usually they are shades that are being discontinued or limited in number. You can find brushes, cosmetic bags, etc. YOu might find some goodies as well.

Hope this helps. Is MAC makeup at department stores cheaper...?
Online is cheaper - special friends and family 25% off deal -

    http://www.trymydeals.com/story/id/520
I was so angry- I went to the MAC in my local macy's looking for the eyeshadow Passionate, and they didn't sell it there! So now I have to buy it online. They were the same price though as anywhere else
You will get better service and find a better selection at the MAC store. The prices will be the same.
    same prices..
Most times yes but the variety will be limited. Go to both and compare depending on the product you want
They are the same prices but you can get samples of some of their products. Though most of the time they lie and say they dont have sample containers.
They are always the same price. Dont you think that if one was cheaper than the other, that the cheaper one would lose business? All MAC stores keep the same prices, and youll be damned to try and find a sale. Everything is on such high demand that they dont need sales to sell product. Stuff sells like crazy.
It will always be the same price unless they're having a sale of all the holiday sets or something.

The only way you could get anything cheaper is at an outlet store but they won't have a very big selection.

Or on Ebay but they're so many convincing fakes out there now that it's not worth the risk and by the time you've payed the postage it will be the same price.

Good luck and i hope this helped.

How can I store all my makeup without it getting messy and spilling out everywhere?

I had like a plastic cutlery drawer thing i used to store it all in but it just got so messy, and covered in make up and unorganized that i need a new idea. I have this and love it
i would get plastic bins and organize them according to what the object is

How do you store all your makeup?

I have a drawer full of makeup, and it's just lying in one big pile. I have a pretty big collection of makeup but I don't know how to store it in a way where I can find what I'm looking for easily.

Any one with lots of makeup too come up with a solution for this? How do you store all your makeup?
Walmart, Target and Wal-greens sell large, nice looking train cases. Or, if your collection is larger than that you can buy little desk organizers, decorative glass containers or pencil trays to keep everything organized and seperated.

Fafinettex 3 has a ton of make up, but she's really organized here's a good video on how she stays organized

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okuGUw25v鈥?/a>How do you store all your makeup?
ahaha. well, for eyeliners, mascaras, and brushes i put in pencil holders (you can get them at the container store). i organize them by using one for all my brushes and one for my eyeliner pencils, liquid eyeliners and mascara.

for my eyeshadows and powders i just put in a little woven basket. its just piled over eachother. i used to try to organize them but it didnt work at all.

everything else like foundaiton you can usually put in a cabinet or such.
I have a little purse, from victoria secret. Nothing fancy, it's just made of canvas and is meant for this. And I use that. I have a smaller bag in there with all my makeup that might get messy, well all my makeup really. lol And then on the outer part (where there isn't a bag and its just the normal purse) I put all my lotions/ medicines. Since I have so many! lol : D

Hope I helped. I will try to find a link for the bags i have. or ones similar. email me for more detail if you would like.
I use a gift box to store my makeup in (I don't have Alot of make-up... it all fits perfectly)

You could use different boxes that fit into your drawer to sort out your different make-up.. A box for lippies, one for eye make-up, one for face make-up etc

You could buy a Make-up case.. it has all sorts of compartments %26amp; it looks tidy.

Buy Different gift boxes to store them in...

A fishing tackle box or tool box could also work.

You could always get a Cutlery Storage Box to stick into your drawer.

    Or something like this:

    http://www.organizeit.com/pobamadorg.asp鈥?/a>

%26amp; buy Scented Drawer Liner to cut out %26amp; stick inside each compartment so that you can wipe it clean if you have to.

    Good Luck
I have a acrylic clear train case that holds most of my make up. The rest I have in a little basket thing I got for christmas that had a bath set in it.

Look at thrift stores for some kind of basket for cheap.
Little containers such as tupperware or baskets are cute and organized and help keep your makeup, and brushes etc separate. There are specific cases on sale, but you really don't need one. A shoebox or gift box will do fine.
I got a big victoria secret make-up bag..but itsvery expensive and i am ordering a lot of new make-up so idk..i think i will storre it in a drawr
I keep mine in the bathroom on the counter or if I have to move it I put it in one of those plastic containers with drawers and opening on the top!
actually do you have a walmart If so i would buy this Makeup bag that Hangs and Folds up it has 4 slots It works Really well for me I think you would Love it too
get rid of some? you dont need alot
get dewer with section kinda like a silver wear drawer and put each differentt type of mack up in each section
i put all my makeup in my makeup bag
i just use a little beauty pencil casefrom mac. i dont wear that much makeup...

What are the girls who work at MAC (makeup store) so stuck-up and have so much makeup on?

They are probably required to wear the makeup their store sells, and in order to get an idea of how everything looks, they need to wear a little of everything for work, even if on a normal day they may only wear blush, liner, and mascara, etc. As for the attitudes, some salespeople find that customers can ask what they consider ';dumb'; questions, and at a certain time of day, no longer want to reply. However, if it seems like everyone acts that way, unless you really love the selection and quality, I would suggest shopping elsewhere. There are many great makeup stores around -- there's no use shopping where the salespeople act rude or aloof toward clients. What are the girls who work at MAC (makeup store) so stuck-up and have so much makeup on?
the last time i popped into a mac counter to buy gloss, one of the consultants offered to do my make up. she was really sweet, but i left there looking like a clown. What are the girls who work at MAC (makeup store) so stuck-up and have so much makeup on?
    They could be wannabe models....

    :)
I don't think they are stuck up, just brain dead bimbos, and they are on minimum wage. Yeah they really have something to be proud of.

    Kelly
    omg they look like prostitutes!
The more make up a women has to wear the scarier she is without it.
I think they want to put as many of their products on display as humanly possible! That way when they get asked about a product they can say ';Oh yeah, I'm totally wearing that lip color under two other layers of these colors!'; LOL!
The best make-up looks like no make-up. It would be enough to enhance eyes OR lips. Trouble is that they do both and there is WAY too much going on.
I like MAC makeup for the most part and I don't think the girls that work at the MAC store are stuck up. Maybe they are where you live though:) I do think that they wear an obscene amount of makeup and it doesn't look good at all. Last time I was there a girl that looked like she had dunked her head in a bucket of orange glitter tried to suggest some colors for me. I couldn't take her seriously. Why would anyone take makeup advice from a freeky clown hooker?
They should wear even more makeup! I dont like their natural look.
lmao i was ther the other day...the reason 4 all tht makeup is 2 show customers they know how 2 put on makeup cuz they always get walk-ins 2 do other ppls makeup n stuff..as 4 the stuck up part i have no clue i guess its....lol i really dont know??
well idk how they even got the job bcus for that u have 2 have good ppl skills cus they have 2 socialize alott.its funny bcus they can either be stuk-up bcus they feel superior 2 us or be a kiss *** so u can buy more products..n yeah sometimes their makeup is over the top...the foundation looks all orange..i HATE that!!..but i likey MAC products :)
I agree that they wear way to much makeup. MAC is my favourite brand %26amp; it's the only makeup i wear. I went to my local MAC counter last week to look at a different foundation %26amp; the woman who would have been in her early 40's %26amp; plastered in makeup offered to put some on me.

I can't believe how much of it she caked on. It was terrible. Someone needs to show them how to apply makeup correctly. They must all think that they are about to be on television! I can't think of any other reason why they would put so much on!!!
Yeah! Maybe they are stuck up cause they think a person doesn't have money. Ha! Ha! With all the assaults, car jacks in parking lots I usually dressed down when I go to stores. You're so right not one of them look at me nor want to offer me a perfume trial. The make up is that they get free make up everytime a new product comes out.
Maybe they never took off the ';stage'; makeup from their night job at the strip joint?
lol i wondered that same thing about the makeup... heheh i wish i knew
wearing makeup correctly it only reflects the high level of culture, the refine a person is, and all the education and world she has, a person who happens to be ordinary and simple is just plain vulgar, ignorant and like a servant her ways are easy, simple, not cultivated and never ever educated.
There're insecure of themself and think that heavy dark make-up will make them prettier.
I cant stand them and what i hate the most is when they only be nice to you if they think your gonna buy something and if you dont, they are horrible and look down on you when they are the ones who force you to try on things anyway. I hate that i have them annoying me every time i want to buy something
Most of them are hopelessly helpless hos, who look forward to their servicing of the next male. Most are dumber than a tree stump and as empty as a street bum's wallet. Their boobs are filled with plastic, their heads with air. A bar of soap would go a long way to changing their crotch aroma from salmon to perfume.

Is it worth it to buy makeup and facial products from department stores? Or are drugstores just as good?

Pricier makeups don't make them any better. Just because they have a popular name and a lot of advertising. Or because someone famous uses it.

Go with the cheaper ones and just keep trying until you find something that works for you.Is it worth it to buy makeup and facial products from department stores? Or are drugstores just as good?
Drugstores are typically just as good. Often the ingredients are similar or the same, but the company is able to mark the product up due to the name.Is it worth it to buy makeup and facial products from department stores? Or are drugstores just as good?
Whatever works for you. Prices don't really matter...the drugstore brands like covergirl, maybelline, neutrogena are just as good....personally for foundation i like maybelline, don't even use concealer or anything from wet n wild i was breaking out like crazy...for powder i like physicians formula..there just as good as any chanel product. as long as you know how to use it, you can still have a flawless looking glowy look.
I found a great skin care product that was developed by a plastic surgeon from Beverly Hills. He had a child with severe burns and came up with this product to help his child鈥檚 skin. It is reasonably priced and is the same quality you would get from a dermatologist, or an aestheticians office! Learn more about it here: http://TinyWebLink.com/?pid=1478690

I hope you like it as much as I do!
depends on the product and your skin
Makeup expires at the same rate, department or drugstore so buy what you can afford to replace when its needed.
Drugstore are just as good, and it should b cheaper. Look 4 a Wal-mart.
Some products from the department store are better than other products from the drugstore. But I say if you are on a budget then drugstore products are great! Covergirl works really good! It is from the drugstore. I love Clinique though! All works fine for me!! That is the point I am trying to make!
Drugstores are just as good. I have an acne-prone face, but I get all my makeup at Walgreens. Physician's Formula is great, b/c it's talc free, and less harsh for your skin. And, drugstores usually have a larger selection of more affordable items, so you can try out stuff and see what works for you.
Personally, I've had better experiences over the years with department store brands- you can feel where those extra pennies go when you put something on...it just looks and feels better. I reccomend Clinique- they make great products, and their prices on many items aren't that much higher than products by Neutrogena.
I think you need to read about the ingredients in the brands you are considering. Mineral oil is something that comes in a lot of make-up - it's a cheap filler and you are paying for it. While there is nothing wrong with it, I avoid it because it acts a bit like saran wrap on your face. As an experiment, buy a small thing of mineral oil - put a cracker in it - after 30 minutes, the cracker still snaps like it's new - yuck! Many ingredients also use tallow or tallow derivatives (this is a polite way of saying animal products and by-products). I am at an age now where I am really paying attention to what I put on my body and skin. I use products from Arbonne - they are botanically based and great for my skin. Whatever you decide, research what is in them!
it's the same product- just different stores.
