For makeup...hmm. Well, I'm not allowed to use makeup. I only wear heavy black eyeliner, black eyeshadow, and mascara for photos, because using makeup when your younger gives you worse skin when your older so I barely use my makeup. I usually go to school with no makeup, just curl my eyelashes with an eyelash curler and put some lipgloss on, and I'm good to go!

Well it all depends on where you live. Its sold at the MAC store in Fairlane in Dearbon, MI. on Hubbell Dr. and at Sommerset Collections in Troy, MI. on Big Beaver Rd. Like I asked earlier it all depends on where you stay.
You should probably go to the makeup stores yourself because some places carry different things or just look on the websites and find out your self.
Macys doesn't carry MAC. I know for sure that Nordstroms, the MAC Store and maccosmetics.com carries MAC. Also, if you have an outlet mall close to you, they might have a Cosmetics Company Outlet that you could check out. They usually have MAC cosmetics.

My friend's wedding is Saturday and I want to look my best! I'm going to treat myself to a ';makeover'; at a department store that day and need to know who has the best NATURAL-looking coverage for spotty skin. Laura Mercier is the first one that came to mind. Bobbie Brown is the second one I thought of. Laura Mercier's blemish concealer is legendary, and Bobbi Brown is the only makeup I've ever used that made my skin literally perfectly flawless, even under harsh light. I saw that someone suggested Bare Minerals. I wear that line almost everyday, and it's a great brand, but I don't think it covers as effectively as Bobbi Brown. Bares escentuals is great it gives such a natural look but also full coverage. I have blemishes and use these products. Just buy the bisque(concealer) to go along with the foundation. The bisque is what covers the discolored marks.

Also you should just go to the mall and look around. Le Chateau had lots of cute, knee length dresses last time I was in there and lots of stores will have dresses on sale because they are clearing out their holiday merchandise.





I don't like the clear strap bras because they're shiny and you can still see them, especially in pictures with the flash. If you get a strapless dress just get a strapless bra that's tight and it won't fall down, or look for one with a built in bra. Or if it's a halter get a convertible bra where you can put the straps in different position.





Get waterproof eyeliner and mascara. I cried at my grade 8 grad but I had waterproof makeup on so I was okay. And if you want to be extra careful just put in on your top lid.





edit: It's hard to say an eyeshadow colour without knowing your colouring but if you wear a purple dress you can go with purple eyeshadow. There is a minimum age which you are allowed to work so a retail job would probably be out of the question for you. Have you thought about getting your first aid and perhaps babysitting? Sorry, 13 year olds can't legally work in the US. 15 is the youngest but that takes a work permit that is signed by a parent/guardian. Even with that, there are lots of restrictions.
if your country allows 13 year olds to work - just take your resume into the shop or approach the store manager to ask for work and take things from there :).

If your looking for cheaper or discounted MAC products, you should go to an Outlet Mall where things are cheaper than a regular mall. Over here there is a Saks Outlet Store and they sell all cosmetics including MAC at cheaper prices, but usually they are shades that are being discontinued or limited in number. You can find brushes,cosmetic bags, etc. YOu might find some goodies as well.

All MAC stores keep the same prices, and youll be damned to try and find a sale. Everything is on such high demand that they dont need sales to sell product. Stuff sells like crazy.

Walmart, Target and Wal-greens sell large, nice looking train cases. Or, if your collection is larger than that you can buy little desk organizers, decorative glass containers or pencil trays to keep everything organized and seperated.

ahaha. well, for eyeliners, mascaras, and brushes i put in pencil holders (you can get them at the container store). i organize them by using one for all my brushes and one for my eyeliner pencils, liquid eyeliners and mascara.


for my eyeshadows and powders i just put in a little woven basket. its just piled over eachother. i used to try to organize them but it didnt work at all.





everything else like foundaiton you can usually put in a cabinet or such.
I have a little purse, from victoria secret. Nothing fancy, it's just made of canvas and is meant for this. And I use that. I have a smaller bag in there with all my makeup that might get messy, well all my makeup really. lol And then on the outer part (where there isn't a bag and its just the normal purse) I put all my lotions/ medicines. Since I have so many! lol : D

I have a acrylic clear train case that holds most of my make up. The rest I have in a little basket thing I got for christmas that had a bath set in it.





Look at thrift stores for some kind of basket for cheap.
Little containers such as tupperware or baskets are cute and organized and help keep your makeup, and brushes etc separate. There are specific cases on sale, but you really don't need one. A shoebox or gift box will do fine.
I got a big victoria secret make-up bag..but itsvery expensive and i am ordering a lot of new make-up so idk..i think i will storre it in a drawr

They are probably required to wear the makeup their store sells, and in order to get an idea of how everything looks, they need to wear a little of everything for work, even if on a normal day they may only wear blush, liner, and mascara, etc. As for the attitudes, some salespeople find that customers can ask what they consider ';dumb'; questions, and at a certain time of day, no longer want to reply. However, if it seems like everyone acts that way, unless you really love the selection and quality, I would suggest shopping elsewhere. I think they want to put as many of their products on display as humanly possible! That way when they get asked about a product they can say ';Oh yeah, I'm totally wearing that lip color under two other layers of these colors!'; LOL!
The best make-up looks like no make-up. It would be enough to enhance eyes OR lips. Trouble is that they do both and there is WAY too much going on.
I like MAC makeup for the most part and I don't think the girls that work at the MAC store are stuck up. Maybe they are where you live though:) I do think that they wear an obscene amount of makeup and it doesn't look good at all. Last time I was there a girl that looked like she had dunked her head in a bucket of orange glitter tried to suggest some colors for me. I couldn't take her seriously. Why would anyone take makeup advice from a freeky clown hooker?

I agree that they wear way to much makeup. MAC is my favourite brand %26amp; it's the only makeup i wear. I went to my local MAC counter last week to look at a different foundation %26amp; the woman who would have been in her early 40's %26amp; plastered in makeup offered to put some on me.


I can't believe how much of it she caked on. It was terrible. Someone needs to show them how to apply makeup correctly. They must all think that they are about to be on television! I can't think of any other reason why they would put so much on!!!
Yeah! Maybe they are stuck up cause they think a person doesn't have money. Ha! Ha! With all the assaults, car jacks in parking lots I usually dressed down when I go to stores. You're so right not one of them look at me nor want to offer me a perfume trial. The make up is that they get free make up everytime a new product comes out.

wearing makeup correctly it only reflects the high level of culture, the refine a person is, and all the education and world she has, a person who happens to be ordinary and simple is just plain vulgar, ignorant and like a servant her ways are easy, simple, not cultivated and never ever educated.
There're insecure of themself and think that heavy dark make-up will make them prettier.
I cant stand them and what i hate the most is when they only be nice to you if they think your gonna buy something and if you dont, they are horrible and look down on you when they are the ones who force you to try on things anyway. Most of them are hopelessly helpless hos, who look forward to their servicing of the next male. Most are dumber than a tree stump and as empty as a street bum's wallet. Their boobs are filled with plastic, their heads with air. A bar of soap would go a long way to changing their crotch aroma from salmon to perfume.

Pricier makeups don't make them any better. Just because they have a popular name and a lot of advertising. Or because someone famous uses it.

Whatever works for you. Prices don't really matter...the drugstore brands like covergirl, maybelline, neutrogena are just as good....personally for foundation i like maybelline, don't even use concealer or anything from wet n wild i was breaking out like crazy...for powder i like physicians formula..there just as good as any chanel product. as long as you know how to use it, you can still have a flawless looking glowy look.

Drugstore are just as good, and it should b cheaper. Look 4 a Wal-mart.
Some products from the department store are better than other products from the drugstore. But I say if you are on a budget then drugstore products are great! Covergirl works really good! It is from the drugstore. I love Clinique though! All works fine for me!! That is the point I am trying to make!
Drugstores are just as good. I have an acne-prone face, but I get all my makeup at Walgreens. Physician's Formula is great, b/c it's talc free, and less harsh for your skin. And, drugstores usually have a larger selection of more affordable items, so you can try out stuff and see what works for you.
Personally, I've had better experiences over the years with department store brands- you can feel where those extra pennies go when you put something on...it just looks and feels better. I reccomend Clinique- they make great products, and their prices on many items aren't that much higher than products by Neutrogena.
I think you need to read about the ingredients in the brands you are considering. Mineral oil is something that comes in a lot of make-up - it's a cheap filler and you are paying for it. While there is nothing wrong with it, I avoid it because it acts a bit like saran wrap on your face. As an experiment, buy a small thing of mineral oil - put a cracker in it - after 30 minutes, the cracker still snaps like it's new - yuck! Many ingredients also use tallow or tallow derivatives (this is a polite way of saying animal products and by-products). I am at an age now where I am really paying attention to what I put on my body and skin. I use products from Arbonne - they are botanically based and great for my skin. Whatever you decide, research what is in them!

Yes!! If you buy Loe- Cornell's brushes = any painter will tell you that they are the best brushes for paint, just like anyone crazy about makeup would tell you that MAC brushes are the best.





They are VERY soft brushes and many come in the same size as actual makeup brushes too! I don't have any yet b/c I'm saving up money to buy some for xmas:)

i think sometimes paint brushes work better, they're often softer than expensive make-up brushes, and they are a whole lot cheaper. if you buy good quality paint brushes then they are fine to use on your face and there is no reason you shouldn't use them for make-up purposes. i'd recommend Leow Cornell brushes, they've worked great for me, and i love how inexpensive they are compared with say the MAC brushes, which can be like $40 sometimes. you can find Leow Cornell brushes at Michael's, and you should be able to find them at most other craft stores.
I doubt it. The bristles on make-up brushes are much more gentle on your skin and softer to help the make-up go on smoother. Art brushes are made to be more durable, and that might make it harder to get the make-up to go on smoothly.





You could go to Wal-Mart or Target probably and get some make-up brushes for a decent price.

I love the bonne belle eye liners. They come in great colours, are good for lining your eyes and brows (depending on the shade) and you can't beat the price $1.49 each.
I really like Maybelline's mousse makeup. They have mousse blush and eyeshadow, too. It goes on really smooth (just don't use a lot) and has awesome coverage.

covergirl lipglosses because they are good price, they look pretty, and they actually have colors that work on all skin tones.
Rimmel eye brow pencil in Hazel. It worked well when my hair was brown with blonde highlights. And it still works now that I'm back to brunette. It runs out fast, so I ahve to buy almost every month, but it's cheap.
